Servint is a serious, very experienced company, offering hosting services since 1995. They seem to be renowned for their VPS and dedicated servers services. Lots of good things have been said about Servint by their customers.

We have a VPS with ServInt, in which we are attempting to move a large church project over to. Unfortunately, our engineering group has been running in to problems left-and-right. (This is due to the configuration of the site, not the server). (...) We received an e-mail from Jim in the NOC at ServInt that went like, "We see that Apache is having problems on your VPS, would you mind us taking a look to see if we can fix the problem".
I was floored. I've been in this business a LLLOOONNGGG time and have never received a proactive e-mail from a NOC.
Just thought I would pass along my kudos for ServInt.

Servint is no doubt a responsive NOC, however just you wait until something happens on your server, for example a hard drive failure, or if there is something gone bad with the kernel.. which one day you bet is going to happen... Then you will realize how INCREDIBLE LONG and bad their support is in this area. (...)

I have been with ServInt for several months. I was in the same situation you are in now back in the beginning of the year. I can tell you that the support I have received from ServInt has been the best I have ever encountered ANYWHERE! (...) At ServInt I have interacted with a half a dozen people who were all very professional and seemed to want my success almost as much as I did.

(...) I have been a customer of Servint for many months now and have had great success with ServInt. Their level of customer support is like no other that I've seen. Emails to the NOC are replied to within 5-10mins more times then not. Uptime is very high as well, in fact I can only remember one downtime which was because of hardware problems if I remember correctly - which was also refunded the downtime on my monthly bill. One thing I've noticed and greatly admired about ServInt is the amount of PERSONAL support. By that I mean you can call or email these guys for anything and they are more then happy to talk to you. If you really wanted you could call just to ask how the weather was like there. (...) I would highly recommend you to check out ServInt. I'm more then certain you won't be disappointed.

Never had any issue with them, they are always on the phone or email when you need support. It's sometimes scary how fast they replay to emails. Network is very good, I have servers in 4-5 locations around USA, and my servers at SERVINT have the best uptimes. I sleep well. My clients are happy, when my client's are happy, I am happy. (...) (...) I have had a servint box for almost 2 years now, if i need anything done, they will find the answer for me and do it. If i need the kernel done, they submit a Ticket and the next day it is done. I have never been turned down by servint on a request, if the person at the NOC doesn't know the answer he will find it and get a hold of me. (...) Now not every company is perfect, and servint has pissed me off from time to time, but they make most things right and with that you know your getting yourself a good host. Over all, i would suggest moving or joining Servint...

(...) out of five stars, I'll give ServINT 4. I had some issues at startup but once everything was configured to my liking I've had no problems whatsoever. I recommend their services, but only for those who have at least some background in Linux and can handle themselves at the command line.

Well as I was looking at my MRTG billing with ServInt today I realized that I have been with them for about a year now. So a 1-year review would be appropriate for a company as solid as this one is. Many people here are already quite aware how satisfied we have been with ServInt, well now you can see a few of the reasons why. (...) We are not a large company and we don’t have racks full of Dual Xeons from ServInt, yet you would never know that by the way they treat us. It’s very difficult to locate an ethical company that can provide an outstanding network and the very best support. Having found ServInt I could never imagine being anywhere else and tolerating some of the things I see people suffer through with other providers.

(...) We have been with servint for 8 months now and though we hardly use support, our experience has been the same. We now have 9 dedicated servers with servint and the experience is almost entirely problem-free. Here is an example of how helpful and proactive they have been:

I woke up one morning to find that a critical server had rebooted 5 hours before and had been down for an hour (in the 3-4 AM range). Because of some bad experiences elsewhere, I suspected energy issues, so I emailed support. Turns out the machine had gone down overnight, support took notice, took down the box, fixed a small hardware issue, put it back on the rack and started it. All while I was merrily sleeping. Total downtime: less than 45 minutes. (...)

Servint goes above and beyond for their clients. We are currently moving multiple servers worth tens of thousands of dollars per year in leasing fees from the west coast facility to servint because of this very clear difference.

I went with Servint about a month ago after my other host had issues and I decided a VPS was better suited for what I need.

I read all the good things here at WHT about Servint and I'd looked at them a little in the past, so I went with them.

They gave me an IP address range that SPEWS sees as a SPAM and they have email only support -no ticket system. No way of seeing if my email was received and no way to check status. They don't even send an auto-response saying 'yeah we got your email'

Everyone says Servint has great support, but when you're relying on email as the primary method, I think you're leaving too much to chance.

I was pleasantly surprised with Servint and their vps offerings. I moved a couple of accounts from Verio several months ago and support has been great, they send traditional invoices via regular mail, increased the disc space and memory limits on each server, etc.

I had an issue with the hard disk crashing on one of the VPS machines at Servint. (those things happen so no problem with that... such is hosting...) They immediately took another machine transferred the backup to the new machine, configured everything, upgraded me actually to a faster Dual Xeon with more memory and in about 1-1/2 hour of downtime all was working again. I call that service (cause I believe it was late in the US when this happened... (I'm in Europe)) I believe this was the first time (I noticed) any downtime in about 5 months there. (...)

My comment: I guess this should be posted as a negative review of Dinix too. :)

(...)Their support is a steal... their VPS's are a steal... I use both Dinix and ServInt and I would choose ServInt 100% over Dinix due to extremely faster support time and more uptime, my Dinix box just goes down and up! I page the emergency@dinix and never get a response... sometimes my ticket doesn't even gets updated, it just comes back and I have to assume what happened... With ServInt... never... I always get the answers I need in a matter of minutes and still reporting 100% network uptime with Alertra for the last four months... With Dinix I get 48 minutes 55 seconds of downtime in the last two months without explanation... My Dinix VPS runs ONE website my ServInt VPS runs 100+ websites. (...)

Talking to Reed or anyone at the NOC is like talking to a really good friend - it just feels nice. Not that "next ticket please" feeling you get with a lot of other companies. I concur. General service and network are top notch, however that is only part of what's important. The service from the noc, sales, and billing is quick and thorough; I always feel as if I'm their only client.

I've also been with Servint for about 3 months after reading some of the posts in this forum and I've also been very happy with the server and the support is awesome. I deal with a lot of software companies and the response time from Servint support is by far the best.

Servint has a support forum. Unfortunately it's for customers only: http://forums.servint.net. Maybe if you ask for a temporary account to browse the forum they'll give you one, but they might not agree to this for customer privacy reasons.

Also, you might want to know about this link: http://www.servint.com/specials . I also suggest you send them an email and ask if they have a special offer for a WHT member (considering you indeed are a webhostingtalk.com user).
