Dathorn - web hosting reviews
Dathorn is a rather new and small web hosting company. What is really interesting about it is the almost fanatical attitude or the customers. They act like they've found the promised land or something like that. Another thing about this company is that new customers had to stay "in line" because they do not accept new customers unless they're prepared to accommodate them on their servers. Strange, but not really unheard of in the world of web hosting.
If you are a newbie it might be good to look elsewhere though. This is what the owner himself (Andrew) said on WHT on one occasion: "Now, not to scare of potential customers, but if you are indeed a newbie, we likely aren't the best choice unless you are willing to learn on your own or from our forums." (this is his original post.)
Note: Although not noticeable from what you read on this page as it's been created a while ago, some customers have complained about a certain lack of flexibility and even rudeness from the part of the owner. I'd just call it a very direct approach.

has been awesome, speeds and reliability have been top notch. One thing
I haven't really tried out is their support, I've submitted just a few

I was with Dathorn for nine months before moving to a dedicated server.
They were the best hosting company I've dealt with until I switched to
Server Matrix (who thus far have exceeded my expectations in a major
way). I would recommend them to anyone looking for reseller hosting.
They're the best value for your money.

I'm only a customer of a Dathorn customer, but I've gotta say, they
rock. The only downtime I've noticed* has been a ~10 minute window when
they rebooted it after upgrading the kernel, which was announced ahead
of time. Great prices, and not at all what you'd expect for something
so cheap. (...) If you go into their forums (link on the main page of
their site), they link to Alertra stats for all their boxes. (Few
places seem willing to do this?) My box has apparently been unreachable
a couple other times, but I've never noticed it.

After reading all the great things people had to say a bout Dathorn we got an account with them. We paid promptly and got an e-mail from Paysystems verifying the payment. 3 days later no contact from Dathorn. So I e-mailed them. (...)

which we cannot help. This is also evident in the fact that we never

server that our e-mail runs on has run flawlessly now for months and

I just got my 2nd reseller account with Dathorn, after 5 crappy hosts,
this one rocks. Been with Dathorn for about 4 months now, and I LOVE
it!!! When you purposely attack another competitor, be ready to lose
some customers. When I see other companies bashing other others, it
makes me think much less of them.

and I'm half looking at moving elsewhere if a good offer shows up or
things get worse but I think I'll see how things progress at Dathorn.
This is hopefully a minor hiccup rather then a sign of a more serious
flaw in the business. It will teach me not to go on holiday for 3 weeks

of recommendations in this forum. I don't have any experience with
vshosting. I've found dathorn to be really quick with support,
crediblehost less so on account of a small amount of downtime and an
apache misconfiguration that they couldn't fix, although they were fine
otherwise.

I have been with dathorn for the last 3 Months. Support is good and
fast. I got my tickets answered in few minutes. Uptime is also very
good! And Andrew will keep you up to date in server issues. They could
be more expensive than you think, because they don't allow overselling.

I have been a customer for several months now and have had a
positive experience all around. Uptime has been solid and when I did
have a question the support was surprisingly fast. What I really like
are the forums where the owner lets us know about any potential
problems, i.e. rebooting a server etc... Overall I would recommend
them. If you are planning on reselling space, just be aware that the
over-selling option is disabled.

I love dathorn. My server has had 100% uptime since I
joined. I haven't even been to their site in weeks, and when I did its
only for the forum, never any trouble. I have about 50 domains there
right now and haven't noticed a hitch. I think you should be fine :-)

I'm at Dathorn, and we had about 18 minutes of downtime in
July on the server I'm on (based on Alertra). I also set up a monitor
(for free) at http://www.easymonitor.com, which checks every 11
minutes. It didn't show as much outage as the Alertra reports, so I
suspect Dathorn has Alertra checking more often than every 11 minutes.
Just a guess...

I've been with Dathorn a few months now and have had limited
downtime, quick response to trouble tickets, and most importantly, an
honest and open admin who knows his stuff and lays everything out for
all to see. I don't need to oversell... I think it's bad business in
general, so along with his fabulous prices, I'm a Dathorn fan... I just
want to know how to pronounce it! Daat-horn or Dath-orn or what?
